“Pit to Distress” means to purposely cause a c-section???
I’m a little bit behind the times judging from the dates on the other articles I’ve found on this issue today, but I guess I can blame my new baby Melody who was born in January… 
But this is very disturbing and adds an even stronger reason to the list of reasons not to consent to an induction unless truly necessary, and then only with a doctor that you really trust!
